Easy Apple Dumplings

Cinnamon, sugar, baked apples, and warm, flaky
breading. Is your mouth watering yet?

Makes 8 Dumplings

INGREDIENTS for Dumplings:
2 cans Crescent rolls (8 ct)
apples, peeled and thinly sliced

INGREDIENTS for Sauce:
2 sticks margarine or butter
1½  cups of sugar
tsp cinnamon 
(12 oz) can of Mountain Dew (don't use diet) 

DIRECTIONS:

1. Grease a 9x13 or larger dish. Unroll dough and separate triangles. Top each one with
3 slices of apple. Roll up starting with the wider end and roll towards the point.
2. Place dumplings in dish with a small space between each one. They will puff up slightly.
3. In a saucepan, melt margarine or butter, stir in sugar and cinnamon. Stir until mixture
  starts to boil. Pour mixture evenly over rolls then pour can of Mountain Dew over all.
4.  Bake at 350ºF for 25 to 35 minutes until lightly browned. 
5.  Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
